THS band announces 2021-2022 leadership team

The Teague High School Band announced their 2021-2022 leadership team over the weekend.

Head Drum Major is Jatziry Baranda. Assistant Drum Majors are Isaac Molina and Austin Mims.

The leadership team will consist of Starla Ashford, Malenie Cuevas, Anthony Dimiceli, Marian Escobedo, Natalie Gomez, Adelina James, Trinity Lehman, Ty’Ariah Mims, Caroline Molina, E’Leysia Roblow, and Maggie Wright.

Co-Captains of the color guard are Ary anna Ponce and Laynee Pickett. Kailey Wellman, Ty’Ariah Mims, and Gabriella Trevino are color guard members.

“I’m pretty excited about the overall dynamic of this group heading into next year. The tryout process was difficult and the results for each group (drum majors and leadership) were tight from the judging panel,” Band Director Cory Hiles said. “The students that tried out for leadership all feed off of each other and are highly driven/competitive which makes it easier for me. They all want to be challenged and I think that’s what makes it unique but exciting at the same time. I’m very excited to see where this group takes us into next year’s show for the chance to qualify for state.”
