They’ve got skills

THS teaching tasks needed for life after school

 Administrators and teachers in the Teague Independent School District aren’t satisfied students are graduating with only basic knowledge from the academics. They now want their students to have life skills.

Hmmm! What’s that?

Life skills are classes that teach the student abilities such as leadership, social skills, money, skills such as cooking and paying taxes, tying a tie and changing a tire. Often enough, students feel like they aren’t using life skills or learning them during their high school career.

In everyday life, the development of life skills helps students find new ways of thinking and problem-solving. This new required class for Teague High School seniors teaches them to recognize the impact of their actions, to take responsibility for what they do rather than to blame others. And it builds confidence in their spoken skills and for group collaboration and cooperation.
