Teague volleyball district champions

It was fifteen years ago, in 2003, when the Lady Lions, coached under Greg Huber, held the sole honor of being district champions. One game away from the end of the season the Lady Lions were in a three-way tie with Groesbeck and Fairfield at 10-3. Teague went on to defeat Mexia and went to Corsicana to face district foes, the Lady Goats and Lady Eagles in a double header. Teague defeated Groesbeck in five sets and Fairfield in four sets. Teague went on to compete for the Area title.

This year, the undisputed district champions goes to Teague. It was just seven years ago when Teague volleyball coach Ashley Montalvo stepped in on the Lion’s Den as one of the tamers and this year marked her first district championship.
