Teague sees increase in sales tax revenue again

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced today he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $711.7 million in local sales tax allocations for March, 6.1 percent more than in March 2018.  These allocations are based on sales made in January by businesses that report tax monthly.

The cities reporting an increase in revenue for Freestone County are Fairfield with a 26.35 percent change and Teague with a 24.77 percent change. Wortham sees a decrease with a 7.74 percent change. Teague shows a consistent increase year to date with a 24.50 percent increase.

In Limestone County, Coolidge and Groesbeck are the only cities coming up short for this period with Coolidge coming in 9.97 percent les than this time last month and Groesbeck showing a 3.11 percent decrease.
