Teague Junior High places first in One Act Play

The Teague Junior High actors took the stage by storm in a production of Liza and the Riddling Cave Thursday, Dec. 6 and won first place.

This U.I.L. One Act Play competition took place in the TJH Theater and Teague hosted six other schools for this event.

“This is the first year I have done this,” One Act Play director, Gina Taylor, said. “I have always wanted to do something like this and said so from day one 12 years ago.”

The play took place in several locations including a yard, berry patch and on the side of Ice Mountain.

The characters in the play live on Cold Water Creek, which is located by Ice Mountain. They are relatively poor folk who work hard. There are several inner voices and ghosts that Liza, the main character, hears throughout the play that confront Adam and his children.
