Teague EMS improves ready response time

In February of this year, the Teague EMS fully equipped a new unit giving the life-saving teams the ability to have a unit available in case one broke down or had other problems. That was great, however, when they had two separate needs for an ambulance there would be no back-up. That would mean a much longer wait for the citizens of Teague. “We know we are getting busier and that has been already validated,” said Flippin. “Last year on this day we had made 237 calls and we’re at 342 now.” If the THD EMS has two units in “Ready Response” it gives the public less waiting time.”

The CFO and Flippin found the 2011 Dodge unit with a Frazer box, like the ones now on the Teague units, for an exceptional price and jumped on the opportunity to try to make it their reserve. They found the unit to be in excellent condition and were able to take it to Frazer Ambulance Company, in Houston, for an inspection prior to the purchasing the unit. It passed inspection and while it was there they were also willing to replace the graphics to match the Teague EMS units. “We were able to place the unit in service on April 23 and are very pleased with it. The addition of the unit couldn’t have been a better decision,” said Flippin.
