Teague Chief Resigns
Fri, 08/25/2017 - 5:15pm
Teague Police Chief Daniel Ramsey resigned his post Friday afternoon.
Ramsey was suspended last week and faced discipline for a number of alleged internal infractions. City Council met Monday night and discussed discipline options and then tabled a decision until 1 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 25.
After a relatively short closed session, council came back and accepted Ramsey’s resignation. They did not allow Ramsey to read his letter of resignation; however, it will be printed in its entirety in the Aug. 31 issue of the Teague Chronicle.
The mayor appointed Lt. Dewayne Philpott as interim chief.
