Teague celebrates BTW/JAB 19th Reunion

The 19th reunion of the Booker T. Washington/J. A. Brooks Alumni Association has created a tradition in helping others to learn the most they can. More than 200 attendees this past weekend were asked to refresh their memories of “what it was all about.”

A leading city official of Waco came to the beckoned call to do just that for former students of J. A. Brooks Elementary and Booker T. Washington High Schools in Teague. These schools no longer exist, but they once were outstanding institutions for Black students when segregation was in existence.
