Teague board approves purchasing of PPE

The City of Teague Board of Aldermen met on Monday night and approved purchasing 28 sets of TECGEN51 personal protective equipment totaling $18,468. The City of Teague received $39,000 in Coronavirus relief funds that must be used by Dec. 30, 2020 to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The equipment was purchased with the funds received.

Stephanie Burns presented the Teague Economic Development Corporation’s 2020-2021 fiscal year budget which was approved by the board. Burns noted that the EDC building is complete, but they still have to finish furnishing the building. The EDC is actively pursuing an EDC Director. They hope to have one in place within the next few months. The last director was only on the payroll for 45 days.

City Administrator Theresa Bell presented Resolution 2020-09-21 to approve a chapter 380 program guidelines and policy statement. The policy was written by Bell and approved by the city attorney after a few changes. The board approved the guidelines and policy statement. The surrounding counties do not have a 380 program in place at this time.
