Schools extend closure following winter storm
All four Freestone County schools extended their school closure following the winter storm this past week.
Some campuses within the county had busted pipes and some did not have running water on their campuses.
Fairfield ISD announced on Saturday that it would be closed on Monday, Feb. 22, to assess and repair operational issues sustained during the winter storm.
“We will make determinations Monday on plans for the remainder of the week,” FISD Superintendent Dr. Jason Adams said.
On Monday afternoon, Fairfield ISD announced that all schools would open on Tuesday, Feb. 23, on a normal schedule.
