Round two storms hit Teague

The weekend brought another round of strong storms to the area.

As a tornado wreaked havoc over Franklin and Alto, Teague and the surrounding area was very lucky to not experience damage on that scale, but Teague was not left without issues caused by this storm.

“It was a very busy weekend for us,” Teague City Administrator, Theresa Prasil, said. “We had 10 large limbs blocking roadways and five electrical lines down within the town.”

Prasil explained the South part of town had the biggest issues including the east and west of South Main Street and Washington.

“The first tree fell on Magnolia early Saturday morning in the first line of storms that rolled through,” Prasil said. “The remainder of the damage was caused when the biggest part of the storm came in.”
