Residents speak out against bullet train
The Federal Railroad Administration, under the Department of Transportation, hosted a public hearing in Fairfield concerning the Dallas to Houston High-Speed Rail on Monday, Jan. 31 from 5-9 p.m. at the Fairfield High School.
The meeting did not start until 6 p.m., perhaps to allow folks to walk around to speak to representatives from FRA, Texas Central and Texans Against the High Speed Rail.
The meeting began with Marlys Osterhues, Chief of Environmental and Corridor Planning for the FRA Office of Program Delivery. She gave the rules of engagement that each person who signed up to speak had three minutes. Any one person could speak more if they signed up for each time.
