Rail company buys Bi-Stone properties

Texas Central Railroad & Infrastructure, the company planning to build a high-speed rail line connecting Houston and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, has purchased 33 separate properties along the proposed route in Limestone, Freestone and Navarro counties totaling $3,374,718 in appraised value since December of last year.

The total amount does not represent the sales price paid to the property owners by Texas Central Railroad, but instead reflects appraised value set by appraisal districts in each county.

Of the total, nine of the properties are in Freestone county, and represent a total market value of $832,584.

Deed records show the properties were all purchased between December 2019 and March of this year, and include pastureland and three houses.
