A passion for helping people and a family tradition in law enforcement led Markeisha Cox to her vocation as a police officer in Teague.
“I’ve always had a passion for helping people,” Cox said. “My grandfather was a deputy for the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office, and my mom is an officer for the Mexia Police Department.”
The Teague department is lucky she didn’t follow in the footsteps of her father, who is an engineer for Union Pacific Railroad.
