No new COVID cases

For the first time since reporting began in July, no new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in students or staff throughout Freestone and Limestone county schools.

Since all schools in the state were closed for the week of February 15, it was not a surprise that no new cases were reported for the two counties’ schools on the Feb. 21 list; however, school was in session through Thursday of the week starting Feb. 8, but still, no new cases were reported on the Feb. 14 list.

Though the self-reported data is provisional and subject to change, as of press time, no cases had been added to the spreadsheet.

Statewide, COVID cases saw a precipitous drop on the Feb. 14 list, from 7,977 student cases the week before to 4,191. Staff cases dropped from 2,871 to 1,482.
