Chronicle staff looks back at the 2nd half of 2019

Editor’s note: The following is a synopsis of stories published in the Teague Chronicle during the second half of 2019.

The Teague Christmas in the Parks committee hosted several fund-raising events over Western Week, and they raised just over $3,000 for Christmas in the Parks. The new committee has expanded fund-raising efforts in order to include all city parks in the Christmas events.

A gathering of court officials and state troopers entered the Freestone County Courthouse Friday morning for an update on a high-profile case against Dabrett Black, which was charged with capital murder of a peace officer after the death of State Trooper Damon Allen in November 2017. The court announced an intended pretrial date and time for the Black case and also is in process of choosing a new location for the trial and will make the decision in the coming weeks.
