Nat’ Night Out promises fun, games, music

Attend and thank a first-responder

Teague residents of all ages are invited to attend the annual National Night Out to show all of the community’s law enforcement officers and first-responders to tragic events how much they are appreciated for the critical services they provide throughout the year.

This year’s free event is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Teague City Park off of Eighth Street near Teague Elementary School.

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. The state of Texas and select areas celebrate the first Tuesday in October.

The city of Teague has chosen to honor its law enforcement as well as its first-responders, including the Teague Police Department, the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Teague EMS and the Teague Volunteer Fire Department.

A spokesperson at the Teague City Hall said there will be an abundance of activities taking place, as almost every business in the city will be sponsoring some activity.
