Local courts plan for future proceedings

Freestone County Local Administrative District Judge Deborah Oakes Evans released an operating plan Wednesday pertaining to the use of courts in Freestone County.

The protective measures within the courts will allow the setting of non-essential in-person proceedings to take place no sooner than June 1.

Protective measures include:

-Social distancing practices, such as the requirement to maintain an adequate space of at least six feet between persons not from the same household.

-Maximum capacities for the courtroom and restrooms have been determined and posted. Public common areas including break rooms and snack rooms have been closed to the public.
