Lions Academy local wins TAAE scholarship

The 30 th Annual Texas Association for Alternative Education conference was held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Feb. 5, 6 and 7 last week. The conference was entitled “30 Years of Culturing Pearls,” featuring student exhibits, speeches and more entertainment for educators, industry professionals and pupils honored throughout. Prize drawings, scholarship awards and more were offered to those attending, of which a Teague ISD student was selected.

According to Lion Academy Dean of Students Beverly Strange, Stephanie Brown submitted an application for a $1,000 scholarships from the TAAE. “The scholarship committee was impressed with the application submitted by Stephanie Brown and is delighted to award her this scholarship,” read the official acceptance letter provided by Strange. Brown and her family was invited to attend the conference, in which the scholarship was awarded Friday, Feb. 7.
