Lion Academy offers alternative to dropping out
So often many young people take for granted what they have in their lives and they live them accordingly without much thought of others. This is not to condemn or criticize them at all. It’s nice they have all they need—even if “all” is not much or abundant.
This story is not about those people. This story is about those youngsters, specifically teenagers who are at risk of dropping out of school in Teague and the measures Teague ISD is taking to prevent as much.
“Dropping out of high school severely limits the chances of future success for too many teenagers,” according to an article entitled “Facing the School Dropout Dilemma.” “It deepens and continues the cycle of poverty into future generations. Receiving a good education is the lifeline by which many youth can lift themselves out of poverty.”
