Keale commended for activities above and beyond

Teague Police Department Sgt. David Keale was commended for exemplary service during the regular meeting of the City of Teague Board of Alderman meeting Tuesday, Feb. 19.

“It isn’t very often that we get to recognize an employee,” Teague Police Chief, DeWayne Philpott, said. “I want to take a moment to recognize Sgt. David Keale for excellent service that he has provided to the Teague Police Department, the City of Teague and the citizens of Teague.”

Philpott stated that on Jan. 31 Sgt. Keale performed his service to the community in an exemplary manner and going above and beyond the call of duty in securing a wanted person and preventing his escape to commit more crimes against public decency.

“On this day, Sgt. Keale was monitoring this person who was wanted for weapons violations by the United States Marshall Service,” Philpott said. “Sgt. Keale began to arrest the individual, he fought and tried to escape the arrest.”
