The heart of a volunteer... Richard Gillet

Why do gardeners and farmers plant their seed? Because they expect to harvest a great deal more than they sow. A single seed that sprouts can yield far more seed than was originally sown. So it is in this life, and for anyone who sows good habits; they will receive the good news of the harvest so as the parable goes, “We reap what we sow.”

That is how Richard Gillet lives his life; a life he learned at a very early age. Richard was born in Iowa, La. in 1943. He is the youngest of three boys and the middle child with two younger sisters. Although he was born in Louisiana, he did not stay there very long. “My daddy was in the Air Force for 23 years. We lived in Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, Louisiana, …we moved all over the place. But most of my life I was raised in Houston.”
