Freestone County to receive vaccine

Two locations in Fairfield, Freestone Medical Center and Brookshire Brothers Pharmacy, are on the list to receive doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine very soon, as week two of the rollout began Monday.

Both recipients were included on a list released last Friday by state health officials, which indicated 100 doses to FMC and 400 to Brookshire Brothers Pharmacy. The two are the only recipients listed in Freestone county at this time.

The exact shipment date is unknown. The doses are part of a plan of allocation that identifies specific groups, in order of priority, to receive vaccinations first, providing the most protection to vulnerable populations.
