Flooding, high water, rescues continue across Teague and Freestone County

Over the past week, the Teague Volunteer Fire Department (TVFD), Kirvin FD, Dew FD, Wortham FD and Texas Game Wardens responded for high water rescues as rain continued.

On 1813 and FCR 1055 the departments were called with a person trapped in a deer stand in a remote wooded area.

Departments used ATVs and flat bottom boats in order to reach the stranded hunter.

One of the game wardens was able to walk in from an opposite roadway through rising water to bring the man to safety.

Crews were on scene for approximately five hours.
