First Freestone county residents receive COVID-19 vaccination
The first few doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Freestone and surrounding counties, as pharmacies, hospitals and clinics distribute the shots to individuals in accordance with state regulations, with the most vulnerable first in line.
As of Monday, a map re leased by the Texas Department of State Health Services shows that two people in Freestone county received at least one dose of the vaccine.
The number is likely to be higher at press time, however, because providers have 24 hours after a dose is administered to report to the agency.
