Fire destroys home, belongings
A fast-moving fire on Mimosa Lane in Teague claimed the house and contents of J.R. and Sara Nevill, her mother and their three daughters on Friday morning, Sept. 8.
The family’s neighbor, Teague attorney Ricky Sims, noticed the smoke coming from the home, called 911 and was quick to knock on doors and make sure there was no one in the home.
“He even saved our dog,” said Sara’s mom, Karla Patterson.
The Teague Fire Department, Teague police officer Markeisha Cox and Chief DeWayne Philpott, as well as neighboring fire departments, assisted.
