FCSO and TPD respond to COVID-19

“We’ve responded to the coronavirus as recommended by the state for our jail facility,” said Sheriff Jeremy Shipley, in response to a question about how the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office is responding to increasing COVID-19 cases nationwide.

The Freestone County Law Enforcement Center has cancelled all visitations to stop the spread from reaching the facility.

“We are screening all arrestee intakes before they are allowed into the jail facility. Our jail facility is cleaned 2-3 times a day if not more depending on the circumstance already. So we’re already accomplishing that aspect,” Shipley said. “Our dispatchers are screening medical calls in order to assist EMS in their response to a possible virus call.”
