Elections Commission to interview 6 for new admin position

Elections have been in the news cycle — for much more than the actual results — since the November 2020 General Election.

As a result, the Freestone County Elections Commission met on Monday afternoon, June 14, at the commissioners courtroom in the county courthouse to discuss appointing an elections administrator to handle the excess load.

The commission consists of Linda Grant, Freestone County judge; Daniel M. Ralstin, county tax assessor-collector; Linda Jarvis, county clerk; Richard O’Dell, chair of the Freestone County Democratic Party and Doug Sanders, chair of the Freestone County Republican Party.

Jarvis wrote via email that elections have previously been treated as a part-time job.
