Damon C. Allen Remembered in stone

Despite the heavy rain, nearly 150 people were in attendance to honor fallen trooper Damon C. Allen in a memorial dedication ceremony outside the Freestone County Courthouse Wednesday, June 20. “Today is about the families and recognize their sacrifice they made in the state of Texas,” said Department of Public Safety Director Col. Steve McCraw. “And I can tell you, Trooper Allen made a difference in his entire career whether it was here or down on the border, or during Hurricane Harvey, he was always on the ground making a difference where he was. This is an opportunity for us to thank the family and Freestone County.”
