County Commissioners begin budget discussion

The Freestone County budget for 2021 began to take shape at a Monday meeting of Commissioner’s Court.
Judge Linda Grant began the court’s budget workshop by telling the court she has received taxable value numbers from the Freestone County Appraisal District. Grant noted that there are a vast amount of values that are currently under protest, but that she expects a similar number to the 2019-20 values.
The budget overview, with further discussion to be held in court meetings on Wednesday and Thursday, addressed requests from various county departments.
