Commissioners approve Conservation District services
Freestone County commissioners approved a contract for services with the Soil and Water Conservation District on Dec. 4 during the court’s regularly scheduled meeting.
The contract exchanges county funding for aid concerning natural resources. The conservation district will assist the county in soil and water problems, education for schools and individuals regarding natural resources, help in water-resource design, and with emergency programs such as disaster-prevention groups.
In other business, the court:
• Accepted a check from Troy Construction LLC in the amount of $230,487.50 for road repair during Fiscal Year 2019. Precinct 3 will receive $84,300, while Precinct 4 will receive $146.187.50;
