City to settle with McPherson family
All board members were present for the regularly called meeting of the board of aldermen for the City of Teague last Tuesday night, January 19. Alderman Chris Nickleberry attended the meeting virtually.
The board went into executive session at 6:05pm to consult with their attorney regarding a pending or contemplated litigation re: Shane McPherson and the McPherson Family v. City of Teague, TX. Upon returning to open session at 6:36pm, the board authorized the City Administrator and City Attorney to make a settlement with the McPherson Family.
The McPherson family received two water bills in October and November of this past year that totaled $9,353.95. The first bill was for $5,142.89 and the second bill was for $4,211.06.
Kami McPherson had addressed the board of aldermen in the citizen comments of the December meeting because the family had not gotten the help that they requested from the city and their water was going to be shut off in January if the bill had not been paid in full.
