City gathers to ‘make the drag’

The drag in Teague was the place to be on Saturday evening, Oct. 10, as the Teague Christmas in the Parks held their first-annual “Making the Drag” night. The night was such a success that round two will be happening the week of Homecoming, taking place Friday, Oct. 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“We had a blast. Groups of all ages enjoyed making the drag. We had lots of folks from Teague and Freestone County and even some visitors from Palestine,” organizer Brittany Brown said. “We sold about 100 hot dog plates and some shirts. Between the sales and donations, we profited just over $500.” After making the drag multiple times, many parked along main street to listen to some “oldies” and watch others make the drag while enjoying a grilled hotdog.

Since the homecoming football game was moved to Tuesday night, Oct. 20, the committee was asked by several attendees to host the event again the week of Homecoming.
