City admin says she’ll forego raise to get budget passed

The city of Teague soon may have a new budget in place, despite no action being taken by the aldermen at the special-called meeting Monday night, Sept. 9.

City administrator Theresa Prasil said she is willing to rescend her request for a raise if the aldermen will approve the proposed budget. This will ensure the city’s bookkeeper and employees in the Utility Office, Public Works Department, Parks Department and the library will receive their raises as planned.

Prasil acknowledged her request for a raise, too, had not set well with many, most likely because she is payed $90,700 annually.
