City’s Aldermen hear from EDC about Old City Hall’s future

The future handling of the Old City Hall property in Teague was brought up at the City’s Board of Aldermen regular meeting Monday night, Dec. 16.

At the meeting, members from the Teague Economic Development Corp. Board of Directors spoke to aldermen about the property’s economic feasibility.

The EDC representatives explained that the building, meant for “promotion of a public purpose of the city,” is not workable for them under the current EDC funding. If the EDC is not able to keep the building, per a property conveyance contract signed Oct. 16, 2017,  the property located at 521 Main St. will revert to the City.
