CDC believes the flu has reached its peak

According the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) it’s believed that the flu has reached epidemic proportions for the season based on its medical impact. The CDC has announced that they believe the flu has reached its peak.

Local hospitals have seen more cases of the flu then they have seen in years. Tami Smith, Director of Quality, Infection Prevention and Employment, released the following information.

With the flu outbreak in our area, Parkview Regional Hospital would like to discuss symptoms and treatment of the flu virus. Flu symptoms you should watch for include fever or chills, although this is not always present, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headaches, and fatigue or tiredness. Some people may also experience vomiting and diarrhea although this is more common in children than in adults.
