Board of Aldermen tackle agenda, pay off bills with fund reserve money
The City of Teague board of aldermen met on Monday night, Oct. 19, and tackled a lengthy agenda, approving multiple ordinances that dealt with finances and the budget.
At the beginning of the meeting, the board of aldermen went into executive session for an hour and seventeen minutes from 6:04pm to 7:21pm to discuss two matters. When the meeting came back to open session, the board approved hiring Haden Proulx as an utility operator. Proulx will start at $15/hour and will receive a raise after being on the job for six months. The second item was deliberation regarding economic development negotiations for the Teague Economic Development Corporation’s Project Z.I.P. The board of aldermen requested that the city secretary collect a list of documents as discussed in closed session for the board of aldermen.
City Administrator Theresa Bell reported to the board of aldermen that the city has $400,000 in the fund reserve after looking at all the financial records.
