BLACK TO BE ARRAINED TODAY

Dabrett Black, 33, will be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the 77th District Court of Judge Patrick Simmons, according to trial dockets. Black stands accused of the Thanksgiving Day murder of DPS Trooper Damon Allen. He is also facing charges of aggravated assault against a public servant and evading arrest. Black allegedly shot and killed Allen during a traffic c stop on I-45 north in Fairfield. He was arrested four hours later in Waller County after fleeing the scene. County Attorney Brian Evans was unavailable as of presstime Tuesday.
