Bell receives $922K water bill in error

Teague resident, Kenneth Bell, entered the office of the Teague Chronicle to show he was sent a water bill in the amount of $922,040 with a penalty amount of $1,014,244.07 if not paid by the due date.

The bill was questionable to Bell considering no water passed through the meter in the billing cycle.

“This is just a piece of property with a little cabin on it,” Bell said. “I don’t ever use any water on that place.”

Bell took his extremely high bill to the Teague City Hall and proceeded to ask why.
