Association presents plaques posthumously

The Teague Rodeo Association honored the late Glendon Carroll and Randy Turner during the 91st annual Teague 4th of July Rodeo. Both men have passed away since the last Teague Rodeo; however, their family was present on Thursday night, July 1, to accept a plaque to honor both men.

Carroll married Iva Nicholas on Jan. 24, 1954, and they shared more than 66 years of marriage before he passed away April 25, 2020.

Carroll was a longtime cattle rancher and loved to rodeo. He and Iva spent many week ends participating in rodeos, and he was a member of numerous rodeo associations all over the country.

He served as president of the Teague Rodeo Association for almost two decades. He was a very accomplished calf roper, having won numerous championships, buckles and saddles during his lifetime.
