Appraisers claim property owner chased them with gun

A Teague resident could face a charge of assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly chasing Freestone Central Appraisal District employees with a shotgun as they attempted to perform their job while on public property last week.

The two appraisers, Debbie Bowden and Joe Barrow, said in a Nov. 13 voluntary statement to the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office that they were performing their regular field appraisal inspections from the alleyway between the 400 block of Chumney and Crestview in Teague.
