‘Shelter in place:’

Mayor orders residents to stay home to slow virus spread

City of Teague Mayor James Monks on Tuesday issued a “Shelter in Place” order that went into effect at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 25. The order will continue to be in effect until 4:59 p.m. April 3.

“The intent of this Order is to ensure that the maximum number of people self-isolate in their places of residence to the maximum extent feasible, while enabling essential services to continue,” reads the order, with actions intended to slow and stop the spread of COVID-19.
