Teague provides respite, supplies for weary travelers

“There are two people and a dog on 84 out by the country club. They’re walking and pulling a cart,” is what the post said on Facebook.

I thought I better go and see about this. I pulled up to two people sitting in the grass under a tree with their dog resting and drinking some water.

The man jumped up like whatever I was there for was going to be bad news for them. But he smiled and said, “Hello.” I told him I was with the newspaper and was wondering about their travels. He smiled slowly, “Well,” he said, “we haven’t had the easiest time of it.
