Texas and World War I

World War I started on July 28, 1914, with the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand.  

This action caused warfare all over Europe. The United States entered the War on April 6, 1917.

Telling what happened and about those who served are told by Gregory Ball in his well researched and written Texas and World War I  published by Texas State Historical Association.

Texas was having many problems at home and tried to stay out of the conflict as long as possible.
