Senior Citizen’s News

We had another good week at the center and enjoyed some really good lunches. Thank you to Kit Prasil for filling in and delivering meals for Donna Retz while she worked early voting and to Roger Brooke for filling in last week as well as Sue Allison delivering meals! Our drivers are wonderful, very committed volunteers. I have been there almost two years in July and have lost three drivers on our schedule. We are blessed to have good drivers who are willing to be placed on a stand by call list. I appreciate all their dedication and hard work, although, they too, need a break. Having medical and family issues makes it harder for them to do double and triple duty. It is a very rewarding and a very easy task. I would like to build-up our schedule with extra drivers who would be willing to assist our current drivers as well as take a route once a week or even once a month if you cannot commit to a weekly schedule. It only takes an hour or hour and a half. We need you to be on the call list for when those who deliver cannot. Please call 254-739-3541 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and ask for Vonda. I can give you more information and set up a time for you to ride and train with one of our drivers during the week.
