Senior Center News
Last Monday, Nov. 30 we celebrated the November birthdays. Happy birthday to myself, Nov. 3, Patti Messier Nov. 26, and Terry Lancaster Nov. 29. Thanks to Lynda Red for the delicious pear cobbler.
If that wasn’t good enough, starting our Monday off with a great dessert, Charles Day, one of our drivers for Meals on Wheels, surprised us all with a large assortment of fresh donuts Tuesday morning.
We all enjoyed playing bingo Wednesday after lunch. Thank you so much to Betty Trask for donating rhe really great bingo prizes.
She even takes the time to individually wrap them so attractively, it really makes it hard to make the choice. Once again we had a smaller crowd last week for bingo, although we had a lot of fun.
Hopefully this next week everyone will be back at their tables. we miss them when they’re not there although the competition is not quite as stiff.
We always miss Sonia Bibby when she cannot come she is so very helpful and thoroughly enjoys being with others, serving and playing bingo.
Thanks to Margaret Bell for stepping up and helping in her place. Thanks to all of the volunteers at the Center that the Lord has blessed me with in the kitchen and dining room. We couldn’t make it without their help.
A special thanks goes to Margaret Bell for staying after lunch and helping me decorate the tree and window for the parade that afternoon.
I still had to do dishes and cleaning in the building and needed to get everything put away.
There is no way I could have done that in that short amount of time without her support. I just wonder, was she maybe one of Santa’s little helper in the past.
Thank you so much to all of the wonderful organizations and hard working individuals who help to decorate and place an enormous amount of lights up at our City Park in Teague.
Thank you to all of those responsible for putting together the Parade and event at the Teague Hotel. What a very special way to make our spirits bright.
Let’s all make it our priority this year during the Holiday Season to help to warm and cheer up others lives, showing them generosity especially to those in need.
Let’s all remember to pray for our men and women serving in the military, as well as our health care workers, EMS, fireman, and law enforcement. A great big thank you to our wonderful cooks and staff at Fairfield Senior Services.
I could never say thank you enough to all of our dedicated drivers who deliver Meals on Wheels to the home bound in Teague.
They give their own time and use their own vehicle. They’re paid with the smiles and the appreciation from those who are receiving their meal that day. Knowing that they made a difference in someone’s life that day.
Stay safe, thank you and God bless you
