Senior Center News

Well we made another week.  June 21 was the 1st day of summer. Boy, is it funny how things work out when they’re not even planned. David Root and Varna Bozeman surprised us with a delicious carrot cake on the same day that a new first time visitor walked in and enjoyed lunch with us. The biggest surprise was that it was her birthday that day. We welcomed her and all sang “Happy Birthday” to her and needless to say,  she got the first piece of cake. Thanks to Lynda Red and Verna for all their extra help last week, as always. Thanks to our two very special volunteers who helped deliver meals on wheels, Shelby and Charliee Prasil. They helped their grandmother, Kit Prasil last Thursday. They stayed and helped serve and even shared calling bingo! Thanks to Andrea Lopez with Teague Nursing and Rehab along with Amanda from Jordan’s  Home Health of Teague for the awesome bingo prizes! Everyone had a great time. It was refreshing to see Patsy Henderson back. She didn’t have her companions with her, Sharon Golden and Elaine Turner. We are open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We play bingo every Thursday right after lunch.  Remember to pray for and support our men and women in the military as well as our local heroes:  firemen, law enforcement and E.M.S.  The rain Sunday night was a real welcome sound.
