Observances: Life is generally not gourmet

Sometimes, when you want it all, you get your head chopped off. I have an illustration in my office of a lady holding up the head of Louis XVI during the French Revolution. Just a short time before, the pleadings of the masses before the palace for something to eat had been summarily rejected.

In this revolution of industry to information, wealth and people are abandoning the countryside all over the world to go to the cities. Those left behind feel as if the system does not benefit them and are willing to pull it all down in their anger. In the past potential revolutions, like in the 30’s, have been averted by massive federal income support programs. The prosperity of the 50’s and 60’s in the country were created by the massive support for the veterans returning from WWII.
