The Lord has a plan for us
The school year is officially over. The past several weeks, I have attended multiple banquets and the students in Freestone County have earned some amazing honors this year.
Graduation for Fairfield and Teague are tomorrow Friday, May 24. I want to wish all of the graduates the best in all of their future endeavors. I had the honor of attending the Fairfield scholarship ceremony and they awarded over $1.1 million in scholarships.
There are just a couple more weeks before the Freestone County Fair which will be held June 10-15. There will be plenty of fun and events happening all week long for families and friends to enjoy.
I want to thank everyone who encourages me to continue writing my weekly column. Each means a lot to me to know that others are reading and enjoying this weekly column.
This week’s Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 which is my life verse. It says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
No matter what happens in life, please know that God does have a plan for each and every one of us. There are things that have happened in my life that I don’t understand. No, I don’t have all the answers and I never will. However, I know that my God is in control and will help me through whatever life throws my way.
My wife and I are so thankful it is summer time now. We are looking forward to resting some. It has been a fast and furious school year. We are both ready to slow down a little bit for a while. I’m thankful for all of my students that I have had and I am looking forward to all of the students that I will get to teach next school year when I start my fourteenth year in education.
My prayer for us this week is that we know that the Lord is always with us because he has a plan for each one of us. Until next week, make him famous in all that you do!
