It happened in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Well, the Second Sunday of Advent has come, and the Third Sunday is on the way. During the Advent Season we are reminded to get ready for the coming of the Savior. The First Advent is so called because it commemorates the first coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. I looked up the word in the dictionary and found that there is yet to be a Second Advent. This one will be for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Of course, there is no way to get ready for the Second Advent, in weeks or months, that is, because the Bible tells us His coming will come in a time when we know not, but then, neither did people know the timing of His first coming. The thing is, we’ve just got to be ready.

I heard an old radio program that parallels the night that Jesus was born in the little village of Bethlehem of Judea. It was quite a fascinating story, and it took place in a little restaurant that only had two patrons and a waiter one night near to Christmas Eve. It seems these two patrons were a bit, should I say, skeptic and critical of the Christmas season, and so, as they began to order their food, starting with two hot-toddies don’t you know, the waiter began to tell the story of when he was a truck driver on the Pennsylvania highways. The truck driver’s name was Mike and the time of the event was somewhere during the 1940’s.
